Objectives

The main objective of the Forum is to bring all CBOs, local and international NGOs and community members together to establish a strong network of civil society organizations that can work together for sustainable development, poverty reduction and food security through information exchange. Awareness creation on the Nile Basin issues among Eritrean civil society is one of the main objectives of the Forum as well as preparing the NDF work plan and developing ways of engaging closely on Nile Basin issues with different organizations, including the NBI and the Eritrean Government. In general the main objectives are to:

• Establish a strong network or Forum;
• Create awareness on Nile basin issues through information dissemination;
• Bring together all civil society members who are involved in NBI issues;
• Create awareness on the NBI and NBD discourse; and
• Promote sustainable development and achieve food security.
